Velocite will be launching a new version of their Selene road frame at this week’s Cycle Show at Birmingham NEC, along with a new set of lightweight clinchers.
The alloy Selene is an existing model in the Velocite range but this new version comes with smoother welds and a black and white colour scheme. The current blue model will remain as an option but only for the first half of 2013, so if you want to get your hands on that version, you need to get moving.
The Selene comes with a BB30 bottom bracket and a tapered head tube, and it gets a lifetime warranty.
The new clincher wheels are called Gram SLs. They come with 25mm carbon/alloy rims and new Velocite RX hubs. The front wheel has 20 radially laced spokes while the rear has 27 – 18 crossed on the driveside and 9 radial on the non-driveside.
Velocite give a weight of 1,400g for the pair, and they’ll cost £699.
