the Guardian article was a bit on the long side for me, but when I read ‘The telly was off the wall, plates were smashed,' I'm thinking there's no chance that they left teenagers home alone for Easter or something, a Facebook/ friends of friends party ensued and now the squirrels are getting the blame?

The little grey bandits even drank all the cooking brandy!

My wife is upset with me because, when we were on the Isle of Wight last week, I saw a red squirrel and she didn't.

Well here's a pic you can show her if that helps

Apparently there's a genetic difference between the west-side and east-side squirrels there. https://onthewight.com/isle-of-wights-red-squirrels-scientists-reveal-surprising-findings/

Thanks.  I suspect the pic would be just rubbing it in.  My sighting was on the edge of Appley Park in Ryde, so I guess that was a West Side Squirrel.

Coincidentally, I saw this map on twitter today.

A shocking change but 'twitter' is no data provenance so please advise the source?

Free speech cuts both ways; has no limit and has no weight.

I've never seen on on the isle of wight either, but I did see one in the lake district last year.

I've seen a few on Brownsea Island (Poole harbour), greys haven't managed to get there yet.

Mrs HawkinsPeter and I both saw a gang of red squirrels in the lake district a few years ago. They were in a fenced of bit of garden by Allan Bank.
