At road.cc every product is thoroughly tested for as long as it takes to get a proper insight into how well it works. Our reviewers are experienced cyclists that we trust to be objective. While we strive to ensure that opinions expressed are backed up by facts, reviews are by their nature an informed opinion, not a definitive verdict. We don't intentionally try to break anything (except locks) but we do try to look for weak points in any design. The overall score is not just an average of the other scores: it reflects both a product's function and value – with value determined by how a product compares with items of similar spec, quality, and price.

A good sports crop top should give support, be comfortable no matter what activity you're doing and how hard you're doing it, and not intrude on the fit or efficacy of whatever top you're wearing over the top.

The Active Women's Bra Top from Zoca is a very reasonably priced technical crop top, offering the majority of the features you'd look for. It's a straightforward racer-back scoop neck design, is made from a pleasingly soft polyamide/elastane mix fabric, comes in a variety of colours and offers support for low impact activities.

It's incredibly comfortable to wear, with the soft pliable fabric wicking moisture effectively and quickly and no seams rubbing or causing pressure. The fit is slightly on the generous side for the sizing, and the levels of stretch mean that those on the cusp of two sizes might want to consider going down a size. On the other hand, the sizing will please larger busted women, although only for low impact activities. The levels of support offered by the top are not high, and I'd be hesitant about running in the top for any length of time, but for cycling it's spot on, keeping everything where it should be with maximum comfort.

Despite its moisture movement abilities, the fabric is slightly on the warm side and those who run hot may want to leave this one until autumn, winter or spring. Or the brave could wear it on its own in summer, as it's perfectly decent.

Verdict

A good value, basic, very comfortable sports crop top.
