"ESF has called on the Government to introduce third party approval for all e-bikes, e-scooters and their batteries."

What that achieves for e-bikes beyond enforcement of CE mark validity which requires EN 15194 (epac tests inc batteries) compliance and other tests to complete, I don't know. Perhaps an earner for someone somewhere rather than the govt spending anything to check on compliance.

Along with advice for buying e-scooters that are illegal for use on the roads will the government advice also cover what to do with stolen e-bikes that don't come with chargers and where to buy compatible chargers?
